New Product Introduction
Over the years, A&D Precision Inc. has successfully guided numerous clients through the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Our structured approach ensures a smooth transition from concept to production, involving three key phases:
Phase 1: Preliminary Review
-
Conduct a detailed review and documentation of product requirements.
-
Identify and address potential conflicts and risks.
-
Review Bill of Materials (BOM) and cost estimates to confirm pricing stability and availability of purchased components.
Phase 2: First Article Build
-
Procure and assemble 1-20 systems for initial evaluation.
-
Record, document, and update assembly procedures.
-
Perform design verification and preliminary testing, including defining and executing testing procedures.
-
Update all documentation to prepare for the production build.
Phase 3: Production Build
-
Review the BOM and develop a procurement plan, identifying potential cost savings through higher-volume purchasing and addressing long lead time items.
-
Finalize testing procedures and requirements.
-
Create a detailed production schedule covering the first 1-3 years.
